Market position
IEC was formed through a combination of several companies (Alsace AudioVisuel, ASV, Audio Equipment and IEC) that have operated in the audiovisual sector for more than 30 years and are recognised for their professionalism. Five specialized subsidiaries are colpeting the services offered: AudioEquipement (sound and light systems), Auvi’One (sound systems), Cap Ciné (post-production), HMS (cruise liners audiovideo facilities), Preview GM System (broadcast ingeneering).

IEC provides customers with audiovisual solutions that make them more competitive. IEC is thus a preferred partner of TV networks, production studios, companies, government entities and local authorities:

  • It has extensive coverage in France (17 regional agencies) and internationally (4 agencies in Spain, 3 in Italy, 1 in Finland, 1 in the United States and 85 relay points worldwide), gathering 550 permanent staff;
  • It has a large stock of equipment, allowing it to offer a very wide range items for sale and rental;
  • Its research department also carries out technology watch activities and develops new and customised audiovisual management solutions.

      

    Current position and outlook
    In the last few years, IEC has built up a market-leading business in professional audiovisual engineering, with ASV, Cap Ciné and now Alsace AudioVisuel, HMS and Preview. These units have now been brought together under the IEC name, which stands for ‘Imager, Équiper, Connecter’ (imaging, equipment and connections). In operational terms, the combination of these businesses has led to the pooling of expertise and more efficient purchasing. It is giving the group a fresh outlook in terms of both customer sectors and geographical coverage. The combination also reassures customers about the future viability and local maintenance of their installations..
